With 12 points from seven games, Rajasthan Royals are at the top of the points table, and it will take them an abysmal effort to not make it to the playoffs from here. On the other hand, after losing their first three games, the Mumbai Indians have found some momentum, and are now seventh with six points from seven games.
After the initial phases, both sides have zeroed in on a more or less fixed starting XI (XII). RR are likely to use the Impact Player rule to ensure Jos Buttler plays no role other than batting. Given the trend, MI will perhaps do the same for Suryakumar Yadav.
R Ashwin has been a surprising weak link in the RR attack, but they are likely to use him judiciously against the MI left-handers. Do not be surprised if he opens bowling with Trent Boult against the dangerous Ishan Kishan.
